If you are a new client who I've never worked with before, or if you are seeing me for Ayurveda & Bodywork Therapy for the first time, please schedule as a New Client.
Read on for more on the initial intake process, what I am and what I am not as your professional bodyworker and wellness advisor, personalizing your session, and how to schedule with me.
The First Session
It's important to me that I take the time of our first session to really get to know you.
The initial intake process includes an extensive Q&A between you and me. Instead of giving you a lengthy form to fill out on your own, I want to sit down with you and discuss your experiences face-to-face.
Because my work is integrative - meaning that I want to help you feel good on a physical, emotional, and energetic level - I may ask you questions about your diet, your daily habits, the way you view the world and yourself, your digestion and sleep patterns, etc.
Our initial dialogue takes as long as it
needs to take within our 90 minutes.
It is not my priority to rush through the intake process to ensure I get you on the table during your first session.
My priority is to use this first meeting as an opportunity to gather as much information as you are willing to offer.
This will enable me to show up to our session with a deeper understanding of who you are, what you need, and how I can support you towards achieveing your health and wellness goals.
Think of the first session as your yearly trip to your doctor's office... and I do really want to know everything.
Personalized Sessions
Every session is tailored to you.
What you tell me at the start of each session will inform how I approach the bodywork and it will help me to suggest beneficial tools and/or practices pertinent to your personal experience and situation.
My Modalities
I use the teachings and techniques of CranioSacral Therapy, MyoFascial Release, and Massage Therapy to provide you with intentional and informed bodywork.
I also draw upon my knowledge of Ayurveda, Marma Therapy, and Reflexology.
Energywork is a component of every session.
Humans are energetic beings, and the subtle approach of energywork comes through in all that I do.
Integrative Bodywork
I blend my modalities together to offer you one cohesive bodywork experience.
There is no specific or predetermined time that I spend using one modality. Our sessions are fluid and I adjust throughout the session as I receive feedback from your body.
I may spend half of the session working to release fascia at the head and neck with more CranioSacral techniques, or an entire session moving the energy in the lower body with gentle Massage and MyoFascial release.
The information you give me during pre- and post-session discussions informs how I approach your bodywork so I can work to integrate your experiences physically, emotionally, and energetically.
